Most singleplayer games that gets multiplayer added often end up with devs spending more time on balancing and bug fixing the multiplayer part than the singleplayer. I like to play multiplayer once in a while, but there also some games where it doesn't really fit in - You'll never get a deep immersive experience in multiplayer, so games that are focused on this should stay singleplayer.
